Freshers' party
JD Women's College welcomed the new vocational course students on Tuesday.
Senior students organised a modelling competition for them, which comprised three rounds for each student - ramp walk, introduction and talent rounds. Swati Kumari was crowned Miss Fresher, while Vandana and Juhi bagged the first and second runner-up positions respectively. College principal Subhash Prasad said: "I welcome the new faces to our college and hope they excel in their careers. This event is to introduce them to the college." The students, both seniors and freshmen, danced to popular tunes including " Kala Chasma", "High heel", "DJ wale babu". A few senior students performed a classical dance, hip-hop and salsa to welcome their juniors.
Exhibition
Bhartiya Nritya Kala Mandir organised a six-day long painting exhibition, at which more than 50 paintings have been put up on display.
The exhibition was inaugurated by youth, art and culture affairs minister Shiv Chandra Ram, and was attended by around 80 people.
