Film launch
The zonal head of HDFC Bank Sandeep Kumar launched Dhanchayat - Panch Kayde ke Panch Faayde, an informative film made by the bank on Wednesday. The purpose of the film is to create awareness about the benefits of banking among rural residents.
The film was launched under the aegis of 'Swachh Banking', a corporate social responsibility initiative of the bank. At the launch Sandeep said the film showcases the importance of saving, investing, mobile banking, rural schemes and net banking in order to improve the standard of living in rural areas.
Kumar said: "Vans will travel to rural areas and screen the film to educate the people about borrowing money from recognised banks and consequently receive the benefits of banking."
Art exhibition
Around 58 paintings of artist Umesh Kumar are on display at the solo painting exhibition that was opened to visitors on Wednesday at the Bihar Lalit Kala Akademi. The exhibition was inaugurated by art, culture and youth affairs minister Shiv Chandra Ram. Umesh said: "All the paintings deliver a message to society."
The theme of the paintings include landscapes, metropolitan cities, women, education and war. He added that the paintings were with acrylic, oil paints, fibre and water colour. The 3D painting on nature made with matchsticks and the sculpture of flock of pigeons were the main attractions. Shiv Chandra Ram at the inauguration said: "We need to promote artists and give them platforms."
