Pure water workshop

A team of Tarumitra interns and researchers have claimed that the quality of water from different areas in the city was fit for human consumption.
The findings of the tests conducted at Sri Krishna Gyan Mandir laboratory were released by Tarumitra Students Forum For Environment on Sunday. "Our tests on water from 18 sources in Patna showed that the water of the Gangetic plains was one of the best in the world," said Sanskriti Singh, the coordinator of the Tarumitra campaign for water.
Views were also expressed against the water-purifying machines. "These machines filter out all the vital minerals out of drinking water," said Devopriya Datta, an activist associated with Tarumitra.
Ashok Ghosh, the professor in charge of the department of environment and water management, AN College, said any water coming from a depth of 100 feet in Bihar was fit for drinking.
Cultural campaign
The state chapter of Indian People's Theatre Association on Sunday organised a workshop, in which the members talked about its cultural campaign. The campaign is aimed at the defeat of the NDA in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Tanveer Akhtar, the general secretary of the organisation, said: "The state wing of the organisation has created a play, through which, the members would directly appeal the common people to not vote for the NDA in the elections. We have included slogans like Bure din aa gaye hain (Bad days have come) in the script of the play. We would tell people how the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is nothing but a mere eyewash."
