Theatre festival

A news meet was organised by Anu Anand Foundation at hotel Maurya on Friday.

Bimar Kumar, the secretary of Anu Anand Foundation, said the foundation would organise a seven-day national theatre festival from September 20 to September 26 at Premchand Rangshala. He said: "Many international plays will be staged by the theatre artistes during this festival."

Lions Club International, Patna, organised a symposium on women empowerment on Friday.

Former Patna divisional commissioner Vijayalakshmi, principal of Magadh Mahila College Asha Singh, former director of Lions Club International (India) Sangeeta Jathiya and Dr Brinda Singh were among the panellists at the event.

Felicitation

Mahavir Arogya Sansthan on Friday felicitated 13 doctors who have worked as teachers in the state's medical colleges.

Among those who were felicitated on this occasion were noted surgeon Narendra Prasad, gynaecologists Shanti Roy and Manju Gita Mishra among others.
