The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee on Friday convened a meeting on Friday to discuss the Swabhiman Rally called by the JDU, RJD and Congress at Gandhi Maidan on August 30.
The parties would use the rally to register their protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's DNA remark.
State Congress president Ashok Choudhary convened Friday's meeting at the Sadaquat Ashram to formulate a strategy to show the party's strength in Bihar. Media in-charge Chandan Yadav said the Congress has targeted around 2 to 2.5 lakh people at the rally on their own.
"To make the rally a grand success and historic, the state Congress chief has formed three committees, including the Swabhiman Rally mobilising committee and Swabhiman Rally publicity committee, to target the nearest districts fromPatna from where people can be called to participate in the event," Chandan said. Every leader has been instructed, he added, to visit their home district to mobilise people for the rally.
