Paras HMRI hospital inaugurated a fully automated blood analyser (Galileo) machine on Monday.

Officials of Paras HMRI Hospital claimed that the machine was one of a kind. They said the new machine would help them in the safe transfusion of blood.

While speaking on this occasion, the zonal director of the hospital, Ravi Shankar Singh, said: "The machine is capable of performing more than 200 tests at a time. In the future, we would try to bring in more facilities. At present, we are trying to start a stem cell collection at our transfusion medicine department."

Santanu Kumar, the blood bank in-charge of the hospital, said the new machine would help in the safe transfusion of blood and it would also minimise the rate of transfusion reactions.

Jawed, the general manager (operations) of the hospital, was also present at the inauguration.

Congress protest

Over 300 workers of the state women's wing of the Congress would take part in a march to Parliament, to be organised on July 21 in Delhi.

Issues like alleged failure of the Prime Minister in fulfilling his promises in the run-up to the 2014 general elections would be raised.

Bihar Congress women's wing president Amita Bhushan, on Monday, said the state unit has decided to organise protest marches in the districts and state headquarters. While the protest programmes in districts would be organised on July 17 and 18, the one in Patna would be organised on July 19.

"After the protest march in Patna, we would leave for Delhi on the same day," she said.

Bhushan said false promises made by the BJP regarding retrieval of the black money stashed in foreign banks, corruption, price rise of essential commodities and pruning of funds meant for various social welfare schemes would be highlighted through the protest.
