Murlidhar Srivastava, the author of Love, Destiny and Those Two Days, has released his new book 9am to 9pm, tracing the love stories across three generations in a family.

A marketing manager-turned-author, 55-year-old Srivastava, tells the story of a family who relocated from US in the 1980s to give their daughter an Indian upbringing.

The novel has been published by Delhi-based Mahaveer Publishers and copies are available at Books-En-Amee on Boring Road and Anupam Prakashan on Ashok Rajpath.

Srivastava, on the subject, said: "Once the girl grows up, the family realises she has not only adopted the western culture but also uses emergency contraceptives. She goes out at nights. I have told three love stories, spreading across three generations, in the novel. First is the grandfather, who fell in love in 1960, the father in 1980s and last the girl in 2014."

The writer touches upon the present-day issues and changing equations in today's relationships. "The story is of one day. It starts at 9am and ends at the dinner table at 9pm," he added.

Cellphone launch

Reach Mobile, a division of Calcutta-based Rashmi Group, launched two high-definition cellphones in Patna on Tuesday.

The phones - Reach Klassy 300 HD and Reach Klassy 400 HD - would be available from Wednesday. The handsets are priced at Rs 6,999.

Kinjal Desai, head, corporate affairs, Rashmi Group, said: "We plan to expand up to 500 towns and over 50,000 retailers. We aim to sell 5 lakh handsets by the end of this financial year."

Vinay Kumar, the president of Rashmi Group, said: "We are planning to sell 1 lakh units by Diwali. Our products would be available at over 3,000 retail points in the next six months."

The RJD on Tuesday organised a blood donation camp in Patna to help the quake-hit victims.

Mudrika Singh Yadav, the party's general secretary, and state president Ram Chandra Purbey attended the camp.

"The blood donation camp was organised to help people affected and injured in the recent earthquake and thunder squall. The units of blood donated would be sent for treatment of victims admitted in hospitals in Bihar and also," said Purbey who donated blood too.

Doctors at the camp informed the participants about the dos and don'ts. Patna Medical College and Hospital's Dr Bindeshwar Prasad Singh said: "Those donating blood should aged be between 18 and 65 years. The donors must also not consume liquor 24 hours before donation."
