Dental conference
A three-day conference on dental care organised by the state chapter of Indian Dental Association got underway at a city hotel on Friday.
Periodontist Himadri Chakravarty said: "A dental implant comes in the form of Titanium post that fixes the jawbone and is topped by an artificial tooth. Thus, if you have a missing tooth, dental implant can come to your rescue and help you restore your smile. The dental implant is almost indistinguishable from the rest of the teeth."
Chakravarty, along with a few city-based orthodontists performed a dental implant on a patient. Amlesh Kumar, the secretary of the state chapter of Indian Dental Association, said: "The conference would see participation of around 400 dentists from across the country. Experts will also speak on the 3D Imaging procedure which helps one to know more about the facial profile of a person even without a surgery."
Book release
Sanskrit English Literary Forum (SELF) organised a book release function at Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan on Friday.
Sahitya Sammelan president Anil Sulab and associate professor of Jawaharlal Nehru Univeristy Rajnish Kumar Mishra were the chief guests. They jointly released a book named "ManWo-A movement" written by Priyamvada Pandey.
Speaking on the occasion, Sulab said: "ManWo is a big step towards social integration, which cannot be achieved without the wholehearted participation of women."
