Doctors at Hallet Hospital in Kanpur are in a fix as a blood cancer patient from Patna, who was injured in the Indore-Rajendranagar Express accident, has been insisting on being treated for his injuries as well as for the disease in Kanpur, reports PTI.
However, according to doctors, he should continue his treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi where he was being treated for leukaemia, as the hospital here, which is associated with GSVM Medical College, does not have an oncologist.
Pramod Kumar, 49, and his family members were injured in the derailment when they were returning to Patna in the ill-fated train, GSVM Medical College chief A.K. Gupta said on Thursday.
Pramod suffered fractures in his hip and shoulder bones.
