Patna, Nov. 27: RJD MP from Madhepura Pappu Yadav today said he would continue with his crusade against doctors, a day after his party leadership threatened to take action against him.

“I have not violated any rule of the party. I have always said Lalu Prasad is my leader. The RJD’s policy is helping out the poor and downtrodden. I am doing just that,” he told The Telegraph.

Reacting to the possible disciplinary action against him, the MP said: “The RJD chief should be asked if I am an MP of the RJD or not. If he asks for my resignation, I shall not take a moment to quit from Parliament,” he said, ruling out the possibility of withdrawing his campaign against the alleged “fake doctors” for fleecing the poor.

The state RJD president, Ram Chandra Purbey, had said yesterday that the party did not have anything to do with the agitation against doctors by Pappu. He had also appealed to the RJD workers and supporters to not to participate in the Jan Adalats of the Madhepura MP. He also hinted at disciplinary action against Pappu by the party leadership (read Lalu).

The RJD leaders feel that Pappu’s agitation against the doctors under the banner of Yuva Shakti would give the party a negative reputation. But MLA Bhai Dinesh, who represents Jagdishpur in Ara district, thinks otherwise.

“Pappu is doing nothing wrong. It is the RJD’s policy to launch agitations in favour of downtrodden. Pappu’s campaign is in favour of the poor. I am firmly behind him. He will hold a Jan Adalat in Ara on December 20. I shall be present there,” the RJD MLA told The Telegraph, defying his party’s directive not to participate in Pappu’s events.
