PAINT & LEARN: Residents at a painting competition organised by Bihar State Disaster Management Authority, in association with NGO Save the Children, at Eco Park in Patna on Saturday to spread awareness on earthquake safety. Nearly 500 children from 10 slums in Patna attended the programme, a part of Earthquake Safety Week that will conclude on Sunday. The annual event aims at creating public awareness on measures to be taken for disaster risk reduction in case of any such eventuality. In Bihar under the leadership of the disaster management authority, several programmes had been organised. Chairperson Vyas Ji told the children that while an earthquake cannot be averted, its impact can be minimised if they are aware of the measures to follow.
