Patna, June 15: The RJD today slammed the Bihar administration for using police force against the protesting students on Tuesday at CBSE regional office.

The students were demanding re-evaluation of some of the papers in which they have scored very less marks.

RJD Rajya Sabha MP Ram Kripal Yadav said: “Using police force against students is nothing less than shameful. The students of Bihar are trying to clear various competitive examinations and in return of their hard work, this is what they are getting. What kind of good governance does Nitish Kumar talks about? The future of the students is being manhandled. Was it necessary for the police to use force? They beat up the students brutally.”

He said: “The students were peacefully pressing for their demands and the police did not even listen to them and beat them up mercilessly. The increase in police brutality is happening on the directions of the chief minister.”

Several students and guardians ransacked the Patna region office of the CBSE yesterday, smashing glasses and damaging furniture. They also clashed with the employees and private security personnel in support of their demand.

Ram Kripal Yadav said: “The video footage of the police jumping and thrashing the face of a young man was seen on television by the people of the state.”

RJD Bihar unit president Ram Chandra Purbey said: “Bihar students are clearing IIT and medical exams. Therefore, the average marking by the CBSE is totally unjustified. The matter must be checked again.”
