Abhishek Kumar Yadav, the top scorer (96.2 per cent) from St Paul’s High School, credited his parents and his strong will for his achievement. “The neighbourhood where I stayed was not conducive for exam preparation. I requested my parents to get me a room in some other locality. They did so and I am happy my efforts paid off,” he said.

Special effort: Did not watch television for nine months
