Body found in well

Patna: Bihta police station on Friday recovered the body of an eight-year-old boy from a well who had gone missing on February 12. he body was found at Bilap village in Patna rural where the boy, a Class II student at a government school, lived with his family. The cops said he was strangled before being dumped into the well. The deceased’s father has named five persons in the FIR.

Kids burnt

Patna: Two children were burnt to death in a house at Chinakothi in Mandri under Kotwali police station. Fire-fighting operations were continuing when reports last came in. The bodies have been recovered.

Flight

Patna: Air India has cancelled the operations of its morning Delhi bound flight-AI 410 from Patna airport till February 28. The flight operates on Delhi-Patna-Delhi route.

FIR

Patna: An FIR was lodged on Friday against a JD(U) leader Vijay Kumar Singh for allegedly assaulting some women belonging to a lower caste at Piprakaaroti panchayat in Madhepura district.

Protest

Dehri-on-Sone: Around 24 youths on Friday confined water resource department chief engineer Om Prakash Ambarkar in his office for several hours to protest against the alleged “inordinate delay in getting appointed as Grade IV employees”.

Assault cry

Patna: A 25-year-old girl living in a private hostel at Nayatola has lodged an FIR at Kadamkuan police station accusing the owner’s son, Kaushik, and his domestic help of physically abusing her. The domestic help has been arrested, while Kaushik is absconding.

Dissent

Patna: High court lawyers on Friday abstained from court work for a delaying a condolence meeting to mourn the death of Dhurandhar Prasad Choudhary, a lawyer who died 14 days ago.

Rescue

Patna: A two-year-old boy, who fell into a deep hole of at least 17ft on Friday afternoon at the Barh Market area, was rescued after a four-hour operation.
