Police frame charges

Muzaffarpur: The district police are in the process of filing chargesheets against the six abductors from Haryana within a week in the Kapleshwar Sharma abduction case. he kidnappers were arrested on Wednesday evening and the police had rescued the broker from their clutches.

PG courses

Patna: The state government on Thursday announced that postgraduation courses at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital at Bhagalpur, Anugrah Narayan Medical College at Gaya and Shri Krishna Medical College Hospital in Muzaffarpur would begin from the coming academic session.

I-T raids

Gaya: A 16-member team of Income Tax officials led by assistant commissioner Ajay Kumar on Thursday conducted raids at a maternity care centre and a hotel in Bodhgaya.

Suspend axe

Chhapra: Saran district magistrate Vinay Kumar has recommended suspension and departmental proceedings against the district general manager of the industries department, Jawahar Paswan, on charges of hatching a criminal conspiracy to extend undue benefits to a private photocopying shop, M/s Sinha Enterprises, under Chhapra Town police station.

Crude bomb

Patna: A crude bomb exploded on Thursday in front of the running room of the Patna Railway Junction near the Mithapur railway overbridge under Jakkanpur police station, injuring a train driver.

PIL disposed

Patna: A division bench of Justice Justice T. Meena Kumari and Justice Gopal Prasad of the high court on Thursday disposed of a PIL filed by estranged JD(U) MP Rajiv Ranjan Singh seeking direction to the state government to appoint the judge at special CBI court, Patna which is hearing the fodder scam case involving former chief ministers Lalu Prasad and Jagannath Mishra besides others.

Mukhiya case

Patna: A high court bench of Justice Sheema Ali Khan on Thursday reserved its judgment on a petition challenging the state election commission’s decision to cancel the election of some of the panchayat heads.

Gang in net

Patna: Police claimed to have unearthed a gang involved in printing fake certificates and electoral photo identity cards following the arrest of three persons from Sohsarai area in Nalanda on Thursday.

Patna: Bihar Jharkhand Rajya Vidyut Parishad Field Kamgar Union on Thursday staged a dharna to protest against bifurcation and privatisation of the state electricity board.
