Patna, April 9: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday paid tributes to Communist leader Jagannath Sarkar who passed away on Friday. Sarkar’s funeral procession was taken out from Bank Road to the CPI headquarters at Ajay Bhavan near Daryapur Gola. The body was placed at the Bihar Legislative Council before being taken for the last rites at Bans Ghat. arkar was a veteran freedom fighter, a Communist leader, a thinker and writer on social issues. He was attending a meeting of Bihar State Ganga River Protection Authority. He also said the state will take every possible measure to make the river pollution free. Aurangabad: A pilgrim was killed and seven others injured wh-en a van carrying them overturned on NH-2 at Madanpur in Auranga-bad on Saturday. The pilgrims were on their way to a temple at Dev when the driver lost control ov-er the vehicle while negotiating a bend, police said.
