Patna: Deputy chief minister (CM) Sushil Kumar Modi took part in the special plenary session of the International Growth Centre’s “Growth Week” at the London School of Economics. press note issued by the office of the deputy CM on Wednesday said Modi spoke about the positive changes that had taken place in Bihar under the state government led by chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Marijuana

Patna: One Nageshwar Rai, a resident of the Rabalpur Diara area under Sonepur police station, was arrested on Wednesday with 10kg of marijuana. The arrest, which was on the basis of a tip-off, was made from near the Bankipore Club. The man was riding a bicycle when he was nabbed.

Arrest

Ara: A criminal, Prabhanjan Singh, was arrested on Wednesday, who was carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head, from New Delhi with help of their counterparts there. Bhojpur superintendent of police M.R. Naik said Singh was wanted in eight cases, including loot, extortion and Arms Act, registered by the police in Bihar and Jharkhand.

Five in net

Nawada: Five criminals involved in loot of trucks, were arrested on Wednesday. Two pistols, 49 live cartridges and six cellphones were seized. Additional director-general of police (headquarters) Rajvardhan Sharma said the criminals were wanted in at least two recent cases of truck hijacking and loot.

Conference

Patna: State Bank of India (SBI) managing director A. Krishna Kumar would pay a two-day visit to the state commencing from Thursday. A press note issued on Wednesday said Kumar will address the all India conference of agriculture and rural business.
