Sugar factory FIRs

Patna: FIRs have been lodged by Sheohar BJP MP Rama Devi and the owner of Riga sugar factory, Om Prakash Dhanuka, against each other. evi, in her FIR lodged with Sitamarhi town police station, accused Dhanuka of misbehaviour and criminal intimidation, while Dhanuka, who submitted a written complaint to Riga police station on Wednesday, alleged that the BJP leader demanded Rs 5 lakh as donation for the party’s Hunkar Rally.

MLA severs ties

Darbhanga: Amarnath Gami, the BJP MLA from Hayaghat, on Wednesday said he had snapped all ties with the party, even though the party’s state unit had suspended him in August.

Special tag jab

Patna: Former deputy chief minister and the Leader of Opposition, Sushil Kumar Modi, on Wednesday attacked chief minister Nitish Kumar over the special category status and claimed Nitish was cheating people of Bihar. Modi said after the Raghuram Rajan committee report submission of criteria for special category states, Nitish is now demanding special package for the state.

Dengue cases

Patna: Total 956 cases of dengue have been reported from the state of which 646 are confirmed. From Patna, 371 cases were reported of which 210 were confirmed.

Patna: The students of PMS Naunihal celebrated Durga Puja on the school premises on Wednesday. The students presented a drama based on various forms of Goddess Durga.

Train hits still truck

Nawada (PTI): A train on Wednesday hit a stationary truck at an unmanned crossing between Kashichak and Warsaliganj railway stations in Nawada district, disrupting traffic for hours. Nobody was injured.he speeding Kiul-Gaya passenger train rammed into the truck near Bojhwa village. It had got stuck at the unmanned railway crossing because of mechanical problems, Nawada railway station superintendent I.D. Chaudhary said. The truck was smashed and its parts thrown some distance away on impact.

Bribe cuffs

Patna (PTI): A vigilance team on Wednesday arrested a junior engineer of the electricity department on graft charges. The team laid a trap and arrested junior engineer Digvijay Singh while he was taking Rs 13,000 from Vijay Yadav, the complainant.

Rape arrest

Sangrur, Punjab (PTI): A 21-year-old man, originally from Bihar, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping and murdering a 13-year-old girl in Gaura village of Punjab’s Sangrur district. Santosh Kumar was arrested within hours of the rape and murder while he was waiting to board a train from Ludhiana railway station to Bihar.
