• Patna: The government rail police on Wednesday arrested a police constable, Amit Kumar, from Mokama in Patna rural for alleged involvement in bootlegging. Police said Amit, posted with the GRP, Mokama, used to collect liquor pouches from different compartments of trains and sell them in the market.
Sand mining
• Lakhisarai: A police team led by additional superintendent of police Pawan Kumar Upadhyay carried out raids against illegal sand mining and seized a huge stock of sand on Wednesday.
Slur on Sushil
• Patna: RJD national vice-president Shivanand Tiwari on Wednesday attacked deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi for sta-ting that RJD chief Lalu Prasad's family was constructing a mall by violating rules and regulations. Tiwari called Modi a 'shameless' person and said he should first speak about his alleged role in Srijan scam.

Trafficking
• Patna: Patna police arrested three members of an inter-state gang, allegedly involved in human trafficking and rescued two women from Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. The police said the women were lured on the pretext of a job and sold for Rs 50,000.

• Patna: A youth suffered bullet injuries in a violent clash between two groups of students at Gandhi Maidan under the jurisdiction of Masaurhi police station in Patna rural on Wednesday.

• Patna, Sept. 20 (PTI): A Patna court on Wednesday fixed October 7 for hearing a defamation complaint filed by Ravi Jalan, a gems and jewellery trader, against RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his son Tejaswi Prasad Yadav over remarks on the alleged Srijan scam.
ED attaches property
• New Delhi, Sept. 20 (PTI) The Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth Rs 1.53 crore in connection with its money laundering probe into alleged black money generation post demonetisation in Bihar's Gaya. The central probe agency said it has issued a provisional attachment order against two flats and a house in Muzzafarpur in the state along with some bank deposits, under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Bribe arrest
• Patna: Vigilance Investigation Bureau sleuths on Wednesday arrested two employees of the revenue and land reforms department - Anil Kumar and Prem Kumar - from Begusarai on the charge of accepting Rs 11,000 as bribe from complainant Krishnadev Choudhary, a resident of Rajopur village. Choudhary had complained that the two public servants were demanding a bribe for necessary correction in land records.
