Patna, Feb. 7: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi has taken his janata darbar to the people virtually. Complainants can now log on to www.dycmgr.in and lodge their grievance online.
The service that was launched today has, however, failed to impress the visitors who came from distant places with a hope to get immediate relief from their woes.
“If our problems are not solved even after the meeting the chief minister and the deputy chief minister face to face then how will they be solved online? I do not think this new system is going to be an effective one. Such a system is already functional at the chief minister weekly janata darbar but it has not shown any encouraging result,” said Naresh Yadav, a resident of Nageshwar Colony in Patna, who visited Modi’s darbar today to lodge a complaint regarding electricity bills.
Shyam Sunder, a complainant from Katra, Muzaffarpur district, said: “I come from a rural background and do not have any computer knowledge. How will I access the computer to enquire about my application? Instead of dealing with the computer and other technical gadgets, why can’t they solve the problem on the spot? That would be more effective and authentic.”
Those who have been running from one janata darbar to another were even more disappointed. “I have visited the chief minister’s janata darbar more than five times but the dispute over my land has still not been solved. I do not know how this new system will help. Is the government playing some kind of game with us?” asked Mukhtar Singh, a 55-year-old man from Chandi block in Nalanda district.
Those involved in launching the facility, however, are upbeat about its effectiveness.
“The facility will help residents living in far-off areas. They do not need to visit the deputy chief minister’s janata darbar again and again. The status of their complaint can be checked online by visiting the website www.dycmgr.in,” said Aradhana, the manager of Aryabhatta Computer, the agency responsible for maintaining the website.
To check the status of their grievances, complainants can visit the website and enter their petition identity (ID) code given to them at the time of online and offline registration (ID code given at the darbar).
The deputy chief minister expressed hope that the online facilty will easy complainants’ travel problems. “We have been thinking of introducing this system for a long time. I am really happy that it has been finally been launched. It will save a lot of time of the complainants,” said Modi.
An official at Modi’s office said those who do not have the knowledge of computers can take the help of Vasudha Kendra (common service centre) installed at every block but they would be charged for it.
