My Take

When I came here I was afraid...

I won't be able to stay — that was all I said.

When I came here, I was scared...

I was afraid to smile and play,

Life seemed so dark and grey.

My thoughts fought, my heart cried,

My words were handcuffed, my views tied,

Living here was so difficult;

But soon I adjusted and my heart did not hurt.

My life was changing, it was taking a new turn,

I encountered many new things to learn.

I walked alone while walking in the lane,

But soon you held my hand — I forgot all pain.

Life never felt this way,

It was as if happiness had come to stay,

Whatever happens happens for a reason,

Once I was also tied but now I am no more in a prison.

You gave me life,

When it was on the edge of a knife;

Everything was a mess,

But you came like an angel — no less,

Happiness granted as I ever wanted

My life was new but I never flaunted.

People believed that I was an introvert,

But they never knew I was also hurt.

You came and gave me life...

My life glowed and now it’s bright.

Nothing made me so happy and gay,

Your presence removed everything that was grey

Earlier I was in so much need but you gave me all that I needed.
