Patna, Oct. 3: Movie lovers who came to Cinepolis multiplex were in for a pleasant surprise as Shadab Faridi— a singer who became famous with his performance in a television show Music ka Mahamuqabla on Star Plus and Junoon Kuch Kar Dikhane Ka on NDTV Imagine — performed at a jam session organised by Dreams and Aspirations, a public relations company today.

Shadab, who is in town to perform at Durga Puja functions, regaled the audience with his performance.

He has also sung Bollywood numbers like Tu hi haqeeqat with Javed Ali and music director Pritam for the film Tum Mile and Tere ishq mein for the film Jawani Diwani.

He has also sung the title track of the film, Rann, starring Amitabh Bachchan and for the film, Road to Sangam.

“We were watching a movie and all of a sudden the film paused and we saw the singer who sang Tu hi haqeeqat and a number of Bollywood songs,” said Rukmini, who was at the hall to watch the movie.

He mesmerised the audience with his performance and no one complained about the movie being paused.

He belted out tracks like Tere mast mast do nayan, tracks from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and Naina thag lenge, which left the audience applauding throughout.

Ddevjani Mitra, the owner of Dreams and Aspirations, said: “Shadab is a young and talented singer who at such an early age has been enthralling music lovers with his songs. Since he was in town, we thought of having a small jam session in Cineplex just to surprise the people here and see how people respond to it. I was actually very surprised to see peoples’ enthusiasm and the huge round of applause for him. Now, we can think of organising such events on a larger platform.”

Shadab on his second visit to the state capital said: “I am honoured to be here in Patna again and to perform for such a lovely audience. Performing here at Cineplex was fun as the youngsters loved it and gave a great response.”
