Museum marvel with pinch of salt

The Bihar Museum has been inaugurated and regulated entry is being allowed into the colossal venue. Though hundreds of residents poured in at the museum in the past two days, authorities are allowing only a handful inside it owing to security and maintenance issues. As a result, many "inquisitive" residents are returning empty-handed. Piyush Kumar Tripathi spoke to a few "fortunate" ones, who were allowed entry inside the museum on Sunday to check whether it met their expectations or not

Inauguration unreasonable

I don't see the logic behind inaugurating the museum in such haste. The inauguration seems to have been done just for the sake of it. Overall, the interiors of the two galleries look good?

Fascinating gallery

The children's gallery looks beautiful, especially with the use of life-like replicas of tiger and rhino in the wildlife section. The use of audio-visual medium is quite intriguing. I would ask my friends to visit the museum?

Below expectations

I don't see the museum - at least what it looks right now - worth justifying the whopping Rs 500 crore spent on its development. Maybe the upcoming galleries would look extraordinary but as of now there is nothing out-of-the-box at the museum?

Looks foreign

The museum looks very attractive, especially with the use of stone-craft and the gadgets. The Sher Shah Suri throne area is my personal favourite in the children's gallery. It feels like being in a foreign country the moment you step inside the museum?

Space management

The land on which the museum has been developed was earlier occupied by a few ramshackle bungalows. It is good that the government developed the museum, which I believe, is going to be one of the most sought after hangouts in the city in the future?

More artefacts

Though the children's gallery is fascinating, I couldn't find real artefacts. I hope the upcoming galleries would have sufficient artefacts to throw more light on history. The children's gallery provides interactive ways to ensure kids learn while exploring the exhibits?

Monday closure

Officials informed that the museum would remain closed on Mondays for weekly maintenance according to the norms prescribed by International Council of Museums
