Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar has mortgaged Bihar and his party to the BJP to keep his chair, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav said in Samastipur on Sunday starting the second phase of his yatra.

Addressing about 30,000 people at KSR College ground in Sarairanjan, 85km northeast of Patna, Tejashwi said people can never judge when Nitish would make an U-turn. "Just to stay in power, Nitish Kumar has mortgaged his party and Bihar to the BJP. He is the most untrustworthy person in the state, who changes his stand every four hours. His latest U-turn is on the Jehababad bypoll - last Monday he said the JDU would not contest the election and now has fielded a candidate on the BJP's instruction," Tejashwi said on his Samvidhan Bachao Nyay Yatra.

He reiterated that Nitish would do the BJP's bidding because the party has some undisclosed CD and file, which will cost the chief minister everything if it becomes public. Jailed RJD chief Lalu Prasad's son also predicted Nitish and deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi would go to jail for their corruption soon.

"I want to declare one thing today. Very soon Nitish Kumar and Sushil Kumar Modi will go to jail due to rampant corruption in the state. Both have looted public money. The Srijan and toilet scams are just the tip of the corruption," Tejashwi said, claiming more cases would be unveiled in the coming days.

Speaking for 30 minutes, he asked if Lalu could go to jail over the fodder scam for having the finance portfolio, why couldn't finance minister Modi too for the Srijan scam?

Tejashwi was accompanied to Sarairanjan - the Assembly constituency represented by Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary - by RJD members Alok Mehta, Ejya Yadav, Akhtarul Islam Sahin and Mohammad Kari Shoiaband among others.
