Patna, Aug. 4: Rekha Modi, the cousin of deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, today visited the district magistrate (DM) Sanjay Kumar Singh’s janata darbar along with her daughter Urwashi Modi to complain about her brother Mahabir Modi for allegedly insulting them inside their house.
Rekha had also visited Nitish Kumar’s weekly darbar on Monday.
She complained about police inaction in the matter.
“Sir, last Monday, I had visited the chief minister’s janata darbar and I was promised that I will be allowed to meet my parents but nothing has happened so far. The worst part is that the police remain mute spectators and do not take any action against him (Mahabir). They, in fact, have tea at his house instead of arresting him. He is confining my mother and does not allow me to meet her despite a court order.”
She added: “Everyday, he keeps threatening me and my daughter, which has affected my daughter’s studies. She has not attended school for the past 10 days.”
After listening to her, the DM said: “We will follow the court direction and if you ask me to change the set norms in the case, it’s not possible. We will follow the norms.”
