Patna, Sept. 23: Panchayati raj minister Hari Prasad Sah was airlifted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi for treatment after he suffered a brain haemorrhage at his home early this morning.

Initially, Sah, 75, was admitted to Ruban Hospital in the state capital after he suffered the brain haemorrhage.

Managing director of Ruban Hospital A.K. Singh said: “His condition is not critical but he is in a semi-conscious state. There is damage in the middle portion of his brain but there is nothing to worry about his condition.”

Chief minister Nitish Kumar, who went to the hospital to meet Sah, directed to shift the panchayati raj minister to AIIMS for better treatment. Soon, an air ambulance was arranged from Delhi, which took Sah and a few of his family members to the national capital.

Sah, who also holds the welfare of backward and extremely backward classes portfolio, was found lying on the floor of his room. His daughter, Usha Devi, said: “It was 4 in the morning when he fell from his bed and became unconscious. We were very scared and rushed him to Ruban Hospital. I am just praying to God that he gets well soon.”

Other ministers and legislators also turned up at the hospital to inquire about Sah.
