Two bikers shot dead a man, Pramod Sah of Turkaulia, on Tuesday in what was the second criminal incident in 12 days.
The man was a resident of Govindapur Tikaita village and was shot by two motorcycle-borne men while he was on his way to Lakhaura with his wife Neelam Kumari, who is an anganwadi worker there.
The assailants opened fire at Pramod on Shankar Saraiya-Parsauna road where he was waiting for his wife . The victim was rushed to a Motihari hospital soon after, where he was decla-red dead.
Nearly a dozen hired criminals had opened fire on May 12 while forcibly trying to grab a piece of land at Raxaul. Police had arrested 11 people and seized a number of fire-arms and more than 100 live cartridges from them.
DSP sadar Pankaj Rawat confirmed the incident and said besides conducting raids, police have also seized the cellphone of Neelam Kumari, apprehending foul play.
