Patna, June 14: Chief minister Nitish Kumar may actually not find it necessary to call a general body meeting of party legislators to finalise breaking of the alliance. A top source in the JD(U) told The Telegraph tonight that the national council/national executive of the JD(U) had already authorised Nitish and party president Sharad Yadav to take a decision on the future course with the BJP. Sharad, who arrives in Patna tomorrow evening, is “on the same page with Nitish Kumar”, the source said, adding that formal severance with the BJP in the given situation is a mere formality.
Since returning from Katihar, Nitish has been in constant and informal meetings with top party leaders and legislators, a process that is likely to continue over the weekend.
