A Maoist suspected to be involved in planting an explosive device to blow up the railway track under Danapur-Mughalsarai section of the East Central Railway in Buxar was arrested from Rohtas late on Friday night.
Police said Manoj Kumar, a member of the CPI(Maoist), was nabbed from Agarer Kala village under the jurisdiction of Sasaram mufassil police station in Rohtas following a tip-off that he was hiding in his native village.
Patna superintendent of railway police Navin Chandra Jha confirmed the arrest. Jha said the Maoist was being quizzed by officials of the railway police and other intelligence agencies.
Jha said Manoj admitted to his involvement in the track blowing incident that took place on February 6. He told interrogators he had lobbed bombs on the railway track when a train was about to cross it on the fateful day.
Manoj, who was involved in several Maoist related incidents, was put under surveillance after the special investigation team (SIT) suspected the involvement of the rebels.
ISIS posters
Posters urging youths to join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) were recovered from the Maoist-infested Nauhatta police station area in Rohtas, around 165km southwest of Patna on Saturday.
The posters, written in wrongly-spelt English, were found pasted on three electric posts, adjacent to a government high school in Srikant Bigha village, close to the border of Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.
The cops seized the posters after getting information from residents early on Saturday morning. Dehri sub-divisional police officer Mohammad Anwar Javed Ansari confirmed that posters carrying the name of ISIS and flag were recovered from the spot.
