A 35-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by one Dablu Singh at Tikhagharadi village on Saturday night.

The deceased, identified as Ratnesh Kumar Singh, was a resident of Deuni Andama village under the jurisdiction of Bahadurpur police station of the district, around 175km northeast of Patna.

He was the chairman of the village panchayat of Bahadurpur block and had gone to his maternal uncle's house at Tikhagharadi with cousin Dilip Singh before being shot dead.

Dilip was engaged in a land dispute with neighbour Mahendra Singh since long. Dablu, the son-in-law of the Singh family, allegedly fired two bullets at Ratnesh. He was taken to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), where he was declared brought dead.
