The 22 postgraduate departments of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University are gearing up for a likely inspection by a peer team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
In November last year, the university had sent a letter of intent to the University Grants Commission (UGC) for an evaluation of these departments and allied offices by the NAAC. Once it was accepted, the UGC had hinted at an evaluation by the end of April, said a source.
University officials are now busy with a facelift of the crumbling edifices of the postgraduate departments and allied offices.
'A good grade would guarantee the UGC's financial support for overall development. The postgraduate departments and allied offices of the university are in a shambles,' said Krishna Mohan Prasad, an economics teacher.
