Patna, Feb. 23: Leader of Opposition Abdul Bari Siddiqui today raised the issue of Biharis stuck in Libya in the Assembly asking the state government to initiate steps so that they can be brought home.

Ajit Sinha, an employee with Punj Llyod and a resident of Danapur, is stuck in Libya. About 300 people from Bihar were also stuck there.

He said: “With so many people stuck, the situation was alarming and the state government should take immediate steps to bring them back.” Sujit Sinha, the younger brother of Ajit said the family spoke to him today at 4pm via Internet.

“All communications in the camp have been cut off. This particular Internet connection works with a Belgium server so we were able to speak to him. Ajit and his fellow workers are not allowed to go out and the situation there was critical,” the brother said.

“They are in a camp, which is in a mess. Ajit gave me the number of the Indian ambassador to Libya. We are trying the number but haven’t got through,” Sujit said.
