Patna, Feb. 12: Grand Alliance constituents RJD and the JDU are slogging it out against each other on the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) paper leak.

RJD MLA Bhai Birendra today claimed that everybody knew who was behind the leak and how it was done. "There is a big scam and people know where the question paper is set," Birendra said. He has attacked the Nitish Kumar government in the past too.

Reacting to Nitish's latest stand on demonetisation, Birendra had said on Saturday: " Ab aaya unth pahad ke niche (only now has the camel come below the mountain, a Hindi idiom meaning the man has finally come to terms)."

"Everyone knows where the list of jobs is prepared and I apprehend a big scam in the Bihar Public Service Commision (BPSC) exams too," Birendra said. The BPSC preliminary exam was held today.

Asked to name those involved in the BSSC paper leak case, he said: "Am I a moron? Why should I reveal names? Everyone knows. I do not need to tell the names." BSSC chairman Sudhir Kumar had admitted during inquiry that politicians used to contact him for jobs to their relatives.

Reacting to Birendra's claim, JDU spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar said the RJD leader was not honouring the delicacies of alliance politics. "If Bhai Birendra really has the names, he should share those with the SIT to help them in the investigation," Neeraj said. "If he can't do so, he must shut his mouth. The Opposition party did not make any demands. It was Nitish ji who took cognisance of the issue and set up an SIT."

He added that through such statements Birendra was making a mockery of future ecam candidates.

Neeraj also claimed Nitish's government will take strict action against whosoever is found responsible in the leak case.

Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi alleged that powerful ministers were involved in the leak and doubted an impartial inquiry by SIT. He demanded that the matter be handed over to the CBI.

"In 2015, Bihar witnessed mass copying. In 2016, Bihar faced the Intermediate topper scam and in 2017, the state witnessed a multi-crore job scam. These incidents have brought disgrace to the state by sending the future of lakhs of youths in darkness," Modi said.

He added that the art of taking bath wearing a raincoat does not only apply to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh but also to chief minister Nitish who claims he is "Mr Clean" despite such big scams taking place under his very nose.
