Patna: Governor Ram Nath Kovind gave 2015-batch IAS trainees a pep talk on the cultural heritage and communal harmony of Bihar at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday.
He exhorted them to step up development work in the state, to work with honesty and sensitivity, earning the people's goodwill.

Murder
Aurangabad: Dharmendra Kumar, 40, a transport agent and Amarchak village resident, was shot dead by unidentified assailants on National Highway-98 near Akalua Chowk under Daudnagar police station limits in Aurangabad district on Thursday. Later, residents blocked the road in protest.
Foul cry
Sasaram: Rinku Soni, a Rashtriya Lok Samata Party leader, on Thursday said Rohtas police were implicating him in criminal cases at the behest of RJD MLA and former minister Illiyas Hussain. Soni said he had been made accused in a false case lodged with the SC/ST police station to tarnish his image.

Patna: CPI state secretary Satya Narayan Singh on Thursday condemned the death of a Dalit youth, allegedly in police firing, in Hawidih village of Darbhanga district. He demanded action against Darbhanga Sadar SDO and sought adequate compensation for his family.

Patna: Vijay Bank, Patna, regional manager Rajesh Kumar on Thursday announced the annual financial results for March and said the bank had increased net profit by 96.56% to an all-time-high of Rs 750.48 crore.
