
Patna: The BJP on Monday launched a door-to-door mass contact programme to spread the word about the Narendra Modi government's achievements in the four years it has been in power at the Centre.
Bihar BJP president Nityanand Rai took the lead, visiting several households in the Kadamkuan area of central Patna.
The programme was launched from Sahitya Sammelan by Rai along with state agriculture minister Prem Kumar, state health minister Mangal Pandey and party organisational general secretary Nagendra among others. The party leaders and workers took out a procession from there and headed out to spread the message about the achievements of the central government.
Before hitting the programme trail, Prem Kumar and Mangal Pandey addressed BJP workers and spoke at length about the works being done by their respective departments for the people of the state. Both leaders also highlighted what they called various schemes through which the Centre was helping the state in scripting positive changes in the agriculture and health sectors respectively.
After the procession, Rai and Prem Kumar visited households and interacted with residents and spent time with them discussing the achievements of the past four years.
Later, Rai told reporters: "We are informing people about the achievements of the central government, which are based on facts. It is our duty to keep the people informed so that when the next elections are held they can make the right choice for electing the new government."
The BJP has planned a series of programmes till June 11 to commemorate four years of the Modi government and all party leaders right from state level to district level have been given specific tasks for achieving the desired goal during the special drive that was launched on May 26. The very next day, the Bihar BJP organised a "conference of intellectuals" in Patna in which apart from senior BJP leaders from Bihar, Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad also took part.
