The skies over Sabbalpur diara would change colour during the second mega kite fest next Makar Sankranti.

Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) would organise the three-day carnival tentatively from January 13 at the capital’s only sandbar.

The BSTDC is mulling to rope in nationally acclaimed professional kite fliers. Navin Kumar, the deputy general manager of BSTDC, told The Telegraph on Thursday: “The kite festival would commence a day before Makar Sankranti and would continue a day after it. As of now, the fest is slated to begin on January 13. But the final dates of the carnival would hinge on the exact date of Makar Sankranti.”

Sources said over 1,500 kites would be offered for free to revellers during the festival, the bookings for which would start from December. Visitors would be able to savour delicacies at the snacks huts. Two temporary food courts with a canopy, two big and two small open canopy lounges with a capacity of 18 and eight people, respectively, would be set up.
