Kids play Krishna, eat makhan, tease Radha - Schools across capital organise fancy dress competition, jhula jhulan, matka phor & dandiya

Patna, Sept. 1: Cultural shows were organised across the city on the occasion of Janmashtmi on Wedenesday.

Branches of Kidzee at Patliputra and East Boring Canal Road also participated inJanmashtami celebrations.

Children wearing dhoti kurta and ghagra choli performed on the stage and charmed the audience. Their zeal to participate clearly showed in their performance.

Tiny tots wearing headgears made of peacock feather tried to play the flute. Their mischief and activities aimed at annoying Yashoda delighted the audience. The teachers were dressed up as Yashoda.

The children also sang bhajans. Kindergarten student Ishan Sinha chanted the gayatri shloka, which completed the spiritual feel of the day.

Naman, Shambhavi, Yashika, Iraa, Prachipoojal and Kushagra of Patliputra Kidzee branch sang O Palanhare from the film Laagan.

Teachers Madhuri, Veena, Rolly, Deepa, Nutan and Shalini organised a dandia dance on the song Radha Kaise Na Jale with the students. The performance with the little Krishnas and Radhas brought smiles on everybody’s faces.

Dhanya, Aaditya Kashyap, Vaishnav, Khsitij, Ujjain and their friends at the East Boring Canal Road branch presented acts that entertained the parents and teachers.

Activities like matka phor, jhula jhulan was also organised for the students. The teachers narrated the story of Janmashtami to the students and served kheer.

Six-year-old Shashvat Sinha said: “I am thrilled to participate in the matka phor activity. I will not let any of my friends hit the matka. I am Krishna, I will hit the matka.”

Another student, five-year-old Ishita Rani said: “I told my mother that I will wear the red ghagra choli on the occasion. She helped me to look good today.”

The preparations for Janmashtami celebrations had started a month back, the teachers of the two branches of Kidzee said.
