Patna, March 3: Seven children of a family suffered burn injuries after a fire broke out at their house in Gola Road area in Danapur at 1.30am today.

Sheetal Bhagat, a resident of the area, said a flowerseller was sleeping with his wife on the ground floor of the house while seven children, all less than seven years of age, were sleeping on the first floor.

“There was no electricity and the children had lit a lantern and kept it on a rack. Fire broke out when it fell. Five litres of kerosene kept there also caught fire,” a family member said.

The children are undergoing treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital.
