Two Maoists were arrested from Aurangabad on Friday in a joint operation of police and CPRF at Chapra village under the district’s Daudnagar sub-division on the basis of intelligence inputs.
“Our men from CoBRA (Combat Battalion for Resolute Action) took part in the joint operation with the police. Both the arrested Maoists — Shailesh Yadav and Arjun Paswan — are dreaded Naxalites involved in several incidents of violence,” CRPF deputy inspector-general Chiranjeev Prasad told PTI.
The police said dozens of cases were lodged against the duo in Aanti and Konch police stations of Gaya, another Naxalite-hit district of Bihar. “They are accomplices of Maoist zonal commander Kailash Prajapati, who was arrested earlier this month. More raids are being conducted to nab others,” Aurangabad superintendent of police Upendra Kumar Sharma said.
