Patna, Nov. 28: Labour resource minister Vijay Prakash today said his department will bring out advertisements at the national level so that companies from all across the country take part in the job fairs in the state capital and other districts.

At a news conference, the minister said a job fair will be held at Patna College on November 30. He added that he had noticed that the maximum number of companies coming for selection and hiring at most employment fairs are the same.

"I am quite serious about it. We have to broaden our reach and ensure that companies from all across the country come to Patna and take part in these fairs. The process will be started shortly and advertisements regarding the employment fairs in Patna will not just be a local affair now. Apart from this, the government will take additional steps to ensure that more and more companies from different parts of the country come to these fairs and camps," said the minister, who had reviewed his department on Friday.

While job fairs in the state were started in 2008, the university-level job fairs started since 2012-13.

In 2013-14, a job fair was held in Patna College in which a total of 802 job aspirants were selected by companies on the spot. The number increased to 5,628 the following year.

Some of the companies taking part in this year's fair include Hero Motocorp at Haridwar, Lava International and Sai Biotech among others.

"Since 2008-09, the department has organised eight employment fairs all across Bihar in which a total of 5,713 companies have taken part. The total number of resumes received at all these fairs has been 1,70,4056. The number of aspirants who landed jobs was 4,48,033. The number is less and it has to be increased," the minister pointed out.
