Chief minister Nitish Kumar serves langar to Prakash Utsav devotees at the Gandhi Maidan tent city on Sunday. He welcomed devotees in Punjabi: "Ji aaya nu", and made a swift round of the hall with tourism department principal secretary Harjot Kaur and other officials. "The chief minister was very particular about the seating arrangement being made for Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, who has difficulty in sitting cross-legged," said an official in Nitish's entourage. "He gave directions to ensure that Badal doesn't face any problem during his two-day visit to Patna on January 4 and 5." Guru Gobind Singh is believed to have taught the art of warfare to Sikhs at Anandpur Sahib and organising the Nihangs (religious Sikh warriors). The swords were brought in a specially designed rath worth around Rs 2.5 crore as part of the nagar-kirtan (religious procession) which began at Anandpur Sahib on December 20 and reached Gandhi Maidan on Saturday evening, escorted by around 40 vehicles including a team from the Punjab police and an ambulance.
