Patna, March 1: A team of Medical Council of India (MCI) officials will be in the state capital tomorrow to inspect Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences. The MCI team’s inspection would continue till Saturday.
This is the first MCI inspection after the institution was granted recognition to open a medical college last year. Sources said the visit of the MCI officials was significant as there were doubts over renewal of permission to run the MBBS course at the institute, as it has allegedly failed to fulfil several criteria prescribed for medical colleges by the central agency.
