Healthy tips at workshop

Motihari, Feb. 1: ‘Put your health first’ was the mantra of the workshop on National Health Insurance Scheme, held today in East Champaran at Radha Krishnan Bhavan.

East Champaran district magistrate Narmadeshwar Lal presided over the workshop.

Doctors at the workshop were given detailed information about the health insurance schemes.

Addressing the workshop, the district magistrate said BPL families with five members and those having smart card facility would be able to avail the medical facilities up to Rs 30,000 every year under the government scheme.

In his address, Narmadeshwar Lal urged members of the BPL families to avail maximum benefits from this scheme and added that anyone wishing to have a smart card can get it after payment of Rs 30.

“Under the instant health-insurance scheme of the government, anyone who gets admitted in a hospital in case of serious disease would be able to avail facilities like doctors’ advice, medicines, operations, bed and meal on both the ends free of cost,” said Dr Subjeet Banerjee of sadar hospital, Motihari.

Besides, the free healthcare facilities availed by the patient during treatment, at the time of discharge, the patient would be additionally paid Rs 100 as conveyance allowance, added Banerjee.
