Patna, Aug. 11: A public interest litigation was filed in the high court today seeking a directive to the state government to abstain from admitting students to the MBBS course in Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) on the basis of the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) merit list.

IGIMS decided on August 3 to admit students through second round of counselling of BCECE. Dwivedy Surendra, the petitioner-in-person, said a written exam, as advertised earlier, should be conducted. “Thousands have submitted applications. The institute’s sudden decision has dealt a blow to them,” Surendra said.
