Patna, April 28: The missing teenaged girl of a high court advocate had written in her notebook that she was being “constantly harassed” by one boy who was a classmate at a coaching school she used to go to until two months ago.

The 18-year-old girl, whose name is being withheld, went missing on the afternoon of April 24 from Anandpuri locality under SK Puri police station, according to the FIR lodged by her father, Patna High Court advocate Ajit Kumar Singh. The girl appeared for CBSE Class XII exams from Ba ldwin Public School this year.

On Friday, high court Chief Justice Rekha M. Doshit had issued a directive to all police officers of Patna, including the director-general of police, to ensure the recovery of the girl within 24 hours.

The directive followed a Habeas Corpus petition filed by Ajit Singh on Friday.

Though Patna police are yet to recover the girl, sources said an arrest warrant had been issued against one of the boys mentioned by the girl in her notebook and who has been named in the FIR. The boy stays in Indrapuri area near Patliputra though he hails from Nawada. The Telegraph is withholding the name of the boy as his guilt is yet to be established.

The coaching centre the girl attended is also in Indrapuri. “In the FIR, the family has accused the boy, his family as well as some unknown people for kidnapping the girl. The boy used to live with his uncle, an RPF constable, at Indrapuri. The girl, who recently turned 18, used to study in the coaching centre at Indrapuri, where the boy also went. She will be recovered very soon,” a police officer told The Telegraph. Though the family has alleged kidnapping, police are silent on whether there were any eye-witnesses since the girl went missing in the afternoon from a crowded locality.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Ajit Singh said his daughter had started taking coaching classes for her Class XII examinations.

“I got this note a day after she went missing while going through her books. Two boys had a fight over my daughter and just before the CBSE examinations in March, one of them called me up and said that my girl was being harassed. In February, my daughter had told me about this and I had immediately removed her from the coaching centre,” the lawyer alleged, adding that the harassment continued for over six months.

The note (a copy of which is with The Telegraph), written in English, says the boys were following the girl around and forcing her to exchange copies. The girl writes that the boy named in the FIR often used to create a scene on the roads. The last few lines of the note reflect her fear as she writes that she is uncertain about her future.
