Gyms & laser shows at Maidan

Gandhi Maidan will soon a get modern indoor gym and another open gym for women, divisional commissioner Anand Kishor said on Sunday.

Gandhi Maidan will soon a get modern indoor gym and another open gym for women, divisional commissioner Anand Kishor said on Sunday.

Convening a meeting about the future plans for Patna, the official said: "We have decided to construct a modern indoor gym for the residents, apart from an open gym exclusively for women. A lighting system would be installed too. The ground will be developed for morning and evening walkers. To make the Maidanmore lively, there is a plan to introduce a laser show, audio show, light and sound programme for the visitors."

Kishor also announced the construction of six parking zonesoutside Gandhi Maidan. A separate playing zone will be developed too.

The divisional commissioner also attended to the promotion of the state's art forms. On the pattern of Dilli Haat, he said, moveable counters will be set up at the city's Gandhi Maidan where entrepreueners can sell their different wares, including Madhubani painting and bamboo craft. "We will do this to promote the traditional art forms of the state and generate revenue. To develop the ground as a tourist spot, we have decided to create two vending zones where visitors can eat," said Kishor.

At the meeting, attended by the officials in his team, Kishore laid out plans to widen the clogged roads of the city for smooth traffic.
