A women's-only gym will be opened at Gandhi Maidan in the last week of July.

The committee that looks after the Maidan's maintenance is setting up the facility. Patna divisional commissioner Anand Kishor, who heads the panel, said two gyms are functional at the Maidan. The women's-only gym will come up in the southern part of the Maidan at an investment of Rs 18 lakh. "It would be covered with poly sheets. Security guards will be deployed," he said.

The gym, which would have women trainers, was set to open by July 15 but import of equipment delayed the process. Residents can use the facility in two three-hour shifts - 5.30am and 4.30pm.
