RJD MLA Bhai Virendra, in a soup over his alleged attempt to grab a Plus Two boys' school, Dayanand Vidyalaya, on Tuesday claimed he had a right to manage the school's affairs, by virtue of being the real pradhan of the Bihar Rajya Arya Pratinidhi Sabha.
Virendra, who is an MLA from Maner constituency in Patna district, also attacked BJP leader and former MLC Ganga Prasad for allegedly indulging in various wrongdoings, including financial irregularities.
The legislator presented a sheaf of papers to journalists to bolster his claim as the head of the Bihar Rajya Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, including letters from various factions of Sarvadeshik Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, the supreme body that presides over Arya Samaj affairs.
"I was elected pradhan in September 2015 by all three factions of the Sarvadeshik Sabha, while Ganga Prasad was ousted because of his wrongdoings," Virendra said. "He has made Dayanand Vidyalaya his pocket institution and is swindling money. The principal Ramesh Prasad is in cahoots with him."
The MLA's interaction with journalists came just two days after Ganga organised a press conference to denounce Virendra and to allege that he has forcibly occupied the Arya Samaj Atithishala, a 25-room guesthouse at Machuatoli in Patna in the same manner in which he tried to grab the school.
Last Friday, the principal of Dayanand Vidyalaya had alleged that the RJD MLA forcibly took his signature on plain paper in a bid to take over the school. The principal had also lodged a complaint at Jakkanpur police station in connection with the incident.
The school, established in 1928, belongs to the Arya Samaj, and is located at Mithapur in the heart of the city.
It is spread across 40,000 square feet in a prime area.
Its value at current market prices would run into crores. The state government has given it the status of a minority educational institution and provides funds for the salary and pension of teachers and other officials, and also for the school's maintenance.
Virendra also asserted that all Arya Samaj schools and institutions come under the Sabha and the principal of Dayanand Vidyalaya was falsely saying that it was run by a set of different bylaws with the state government's consent.
"Ganga and Ramesh made their own personal bylaws and captured the school," Virendra said.
"Ganga has become a member of the school's management committee as a donor. His father and grandfather donated some land to the Arya Samaj, but he did not allow it to be transferred and has kept it with himself."
The RJD lawmaker said he will go all out and fight to liberate the school from the clutches of the two and also see to it that a financial probe is conducted against both to pinpoint their role in looting the school and other institutions affiliated to the Arya Samaj.
