17 hurt in station electrocution
Muzaffarpur: At least 17 people were electrocuted as they sat under electric poles on platform numbers 3 and 4 while waiting for their trains.
According to railway doctor K.C. Jha, three of them are in a serious condition and have been referred to the PMCH. The incident occurred around 3pm on Wednesday. Ironically, seating arrangements have been made under the electric poles on these two platforms. Seven of the affected passengers were admitted to a local hospital. Others were released after minor treatment.
Plea to resolve strike
Patna: Executive assistants working under the aegis of Bihar Administrative Reforms Mission Society, on strike since June 8, had on Wednesday appealed the government to take positive steps to end the strike.

Man killed
Patna: Vipin Kumar Singh (55), an employee with the animal husbandry department, died after been hit by a speeding truck on Wednesday afternoon. He was on his way to a bank at the BMP-Airport Road when a truck hit him from behind.
AES toll
Patna: Three more encephalitis patients died in Muzaffarpur on Wednesday taking the toll to 15. Sources said most of the encephalitis patients are coming to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for treatment.
Food licence
Patna: The health department started issuing online food licence/registration certificate to food business operators from Wednesday. On Wednesday, it issued two online food licences.
Four dead
Motihari: At least four occupants of an SUV died on the spot and four others sustained injury in a head on collusion with a truck near Diliya Bazar under Kesariya police station area early on Wednesday morning. The SUV was coming from Patna while the truck was on way to Patna when the accident took place on Areraj-Vaishali SH-74.
Murder bid
Chhapra: Criminals on Wednesday tried to kill advocate Sanjay Kumar Singh by firing at him but he escaped by a whisker. The incident took place near Konhia Mai temple under Bhagwan Bazar police station at 9.30am.
Voter IDs
Patna: District magistrate Abhay Kumar Singh on Wednesday distributed voter ID cards to the employees of offices located at the state secretariat. The cards were distributed under electoral roll revision programme.
