Gizmo geeks push up demand

Patna, Oct. 24: Television panels, including LCD and LED sets, seem to have caught the imagination of gizmo lovers in the state capital this Dhanteras. The demand for other home appliances has also shot up over the past few days in the city. Huge daily sales have put the sellers in a dilemma, who are busy replenishing exhausted stocks of electronic appliances.

“Samsung has sold around 1,500-2,000 LCD and LED television sets in the past three days, making these the biggest selling electronic product this festival. Moreover, the demand for our washing machines, microwave ovens and refrigerators among other home appliances is also enormous. We are almost out of stock of microwave ovens and refrigerators. We have been forced to place fresh orders. Our products are preferred for quality performance and durability. Moreover, we also give a large number of festive offers, including gifts and cashback, to the buyers,” said a senior executive of the Bihar division of Samsung Electronics.

Almost all electronics brand are witnessing a huge upsurge in sales of television sets.

“We have sold around 3,500-4,000 television panels in three days. We are facing a shortage of LCD, LED and Plasma televisions. The slim, flat and CRT televisions are also in good demand against our expectations,” said Arif Khan, the branch manager of LG Electronics, Bihar division.

“Sales of LCDs and LEDs are the highest this time. We have sold over 1,000 sets in three days,” said Nishant Prabhakar, managing director of Aditya Vision, Bailey Road.
